Let Me Introduce Myself
My exposure to cancer began many years ago. At the young age of 8, I experienced the "c" word for the first time when my maternal grandmother passed away from metastatic breast cancer. My 35 year old mother, concerned she too may have this dreadful disease, sought out a doctor for her first mammogram and pap smear. Sadly, she was diagnosed with cervical cancer.
I remember having a distant aunt come to care for me and my younger brother while mom recovered from her hysterectomy. Thankfully, it was caught early and if it had not been for the death of my grandmother, I would have lost my mother too.
One of my greatest joys at that time was playing with Ideal's Petite Princess Fantasy Dollhouse Furniture and I immersed myself into this "Fantasy World" whenever I could. My love for Petite Princess would remain with me into adulthood.

I am also pleased to say Mom recently survived bladder cancer and is doing great at age 90 and although Dad is no longer alive, he lived for many years following a breast cancer double mastectomy!
Needless to say, I was extremely frightened at the thought of my own diagnosis with breast cancer two years ago at the same age as my grandmother. I was instantly cast into a whirlwind of emotions with "How bad do I have it?" and "How is this all going to end" as questions at the top of my list. I found myself going through the steps and jumping hurdles to get myself physically well, not realizing a cancer survivor also has many emotional obstacles to address. Both my faith in God and determination to fulfill my promise to send my Petite Princess donation to Washington D.C. helped me through cancer's emotional turmoil.
It wasn't until I attended a Healing Odyssey https://healingodyssey.net/ cancer survivor retreat that I was able to get in touch with these emotions. I realized although I am now free from cancer, suppressed thoughts and feelings still remain below the surface. If I am to fully recover from cancer's grip, I need to address them. Call it therapy if you may, but to me, it is with great pleasure that I begin to write "My Healing Odyssey."
I'm proud to say now that I am finally at a place where I have found something that works for me. Almost four years ago I began seeing a classical Homeopath.
